time_in_force controls how long the OMS will keep an unfilled order working. Defaults to DAY.
| Value | Behavior |

DAY | Cancels at the end of the current GLOBEX session. Most common default. |
GTC | ”Good ‘til cancelled.” Persists across sessions until filled or cancelled. |
IOC | ”Immediate or cancel.” Fills what it can immediately, cancels the rest. Partial fills allowed. |
FOK | ”Fill or kill.” All-or-nothing immediate execution. Cancels if not fully fillable. |
GTD | ”Good ‘til date.” Persists until expiration_date. Required field when using GTD. |

GTC, GTD) survive overnight but are re-validated against firm risk at session open. An order can be auto-cancelled if the account’s entitlements changed.
